A singleplayer stationary VR game designed to explore the enjoyment and comfort of natural, in-place interaction in virtual reality. Created for a graduate-level course, the project focused on avoiding artificial or disorienting movement mechanics by centering the gameplay around defending a village from waves of incoming monsters while physically standing in one place.
This project was accompanied by a formal research paper analyzing player response, immersion, and motion comfort, with the goal of contributing to discussions around natural locomotion in VR design. The full paper is available to the left.
As the sole developer, I designed and built the full gameplay experience, including enemy behavior, wave progression, and VR interaction systems, all within Unreal Engine. I conducted playtests to gather player feedback and authored a research paper analyzing how stationary VR affects player enjoyment and motion sickness.
